Out Of Context
Context consists of multiple facets that surround a piece of art. Typically, these would include a timeframe, a reasoning behind the creation and a location of inspiration both culturally and geographically. In order to deepen the viewers cultural understanding of a piece, contextualism is explored for meaningful insight and greater comprehension.
So what would happen if this was taken away?
What if it was ‘Out Of Context’?
The art would become municipal for exploration, it would mean you could freely interpret each piece without a premeditated path to guide you through a constructed narrative.
This creates art in its purest form.
Raw.
Tangible.
Bespoke.
The garments as the canvas, each wearer is the frame, context is removed, you become the exhibition.
Out Of Context, create your own story.
